OCR Gear Reducers
OCR was founded in the 1960's by an idea born out of 3 partners; Alessandrini, Bertoni and Malavolta. At the beginning of the 70's OCR decided to redirect and verticalize its abilities, shifting its production towards shaft-mounted gear reducers.
In 1987 Andrea Alessandrini, Uber Alessandrini’s son, took over the reins of the family business ambitiously decided to drive the company into the foreign market for the very first time.
This new challenge eventually drove the decision of abandoning the production of worm gear reducers to specialize in shaft-mounted gearboxes, able to meet the various application needs of different sectors.
Over the years the SERIES's range has been expanded to keep up with technological developments and better meet company and customer requirements. Today OCR has over 50 years of experience in the sector and a well know presence on both domestic and foreign markets.
OCR Shaft Mounted Gear Reducers
OCR specialise in the construction of shaft-mounted gear reducers, both single and double reduction. The speed reduction takes place employing spur gears, allowing to reach greater performances and efficiency whilst improving reduction ratios in comparison to other types of speed reducers.

RP 2C Series
The RP 2C Series of shaft mounted gear reducers are the most commonly used gearboxes enabling two different reduction stages. This is made possible by utilising spur gears, allowing improvements in the machines performance and efficiency as well as reduction ratios. The RP 2C series are designed for applications where power is transmitted via a belt between the motor and gearbox, and they are installed directly onto the hollow shaft of the driven machine. The casing is grey cast iron with reinforcements and cooling ribs while the steel gears are case hardened and have helical toothing and controlled contour. The gearbox is secured with a torque arm, which also helps maintain proper belt tension and supports the brackets. An AR backstop device is available for all sizes in this series. This freewheeling mechanism prevents the driven equipment from rotating backward and can be installed on the gearbox without removing it from the machine. There are 2 ways of rotation: Free rotation clockwise and anticlockwise.
The RP2C series gear reducer is lubricated in oil, and supplied without. they are usually mounted in the horizontal axis positions, but can be fitted in the vertical position also. Shaft mounted gear reducers are mainly used for controlling conveyor belts, bucket elevators, augers, mixers and crushers.
- Sizes: 85, 105, 125, 150, 165, 180, 210, 250
- Nominal Reduction Ratios: 4 – 10 – 16 – 20 – 25
- Rated Power: From 0,6 kW up to 155 kW
- Nominal Torque: From 160 Nm up to 11280 Nm
RP 1C 122 Series
OCR RP 1C 122 Series shaft-mounted gear reducers are designed for applications where power is transmitted via a belt between the motor and gearbox, and they are installed directly onto the shaft of the driven machine. The RP 1C 122 Series are grease-lubricated and supplied with grease, but without torque arm (tensioner). No maintenance required during operation.
Nominal Reduction Ratios: 6,5 – 9,27 – 12, 4
Key Benefits
- Very High Efficiency
- Low Noise Levels
- Easily Assembled
- Easy Maintenance with minimal requirements
- Wide speed range available
RP 1C 160 Series
OCR RP 1C 160 Series shaft-mounted gear reducers are designed for applications where power is transmitted via a belt between the motor and gearbox, and are installed directly onto the shaft of the driven machine. RP 1C 160 gear reducers are grease-lubricated and supplied with grease and torque arm. AR Backstop device is available on these gears both with clockwise and anticlockwise free rotations. This holdback device prevents the driven equipment from running backward and can be quickly installed on the gearbox without removing it from the machine. It is mounted on the high-speed shaft on the side opposite the shaft end.
No maintenance is required during operation. Shaft mounted gear reducers are mainly used for controlling conveyor belts, bucket elevators, augers, mixers and crushers.
Nominal Reduction Ratios: 6,27 – 9,82 – 12,8
Key Benefits
- Very High Efficiency
- Low Noise Levels
- Easily Assembled
- Ability to Prevent Backwards Motion.
- Easy Maintenance with Minimal Requirements
- Wide Speed Range Available
RP 1C 168 Series
OCR RP 1C 160 Series shaft-mounted gear reducers are designed for applications where power is transmitted via a belt between the motor and gearbox, and they are installed directly onto the shaft of the driven machine.
Backstop device available on request which helps to prevent the driven equipment from running backwards. The RP 1C 168 Series Gear reducers are lubricated in oil but supplied without. Usually the amount of oil needed in the working position is around 0.8L, the oil must be poured into the reducer up to the height of the cap and replaced after a running-in period of 500 working hours. Shaft mounted gear reducers are mainly used for controlling conveyor belts, bucket elevators, augers, mixers and crushers.
Gear Transmission Ratio: 6,83
Key Benefits
- Very High Efficiency
- Low Noise Levels
- Easily Assembled
- Ability to Prevent Backwards Motion.
- Easy Maintenance with Minimal Requirements
- Wide Speed Range Available
