Brown RX Couplings
The RX couplings by Brown GearTech are specifically engineered to provide efficient torque transmission while effectively damping torsional vibrations that can occur during operation. These vibrations often result from the irregular or uneven running characteristics of certain prime movers, such as diesel engines. By absorbing and minimizing these dynamic forces, RX couplings help to protect connected machinery, enhance overall system performance, and extend the operational lifespan of mechanical components. This makes the RX coupling an excellent choice for demanding applications where smooth, reliable power transmission is essential.
The RX’s compact design, low weight, yet capable of transmitting high torques. Running quality and durability are positively improved by all-over machining designed for positive torque transmission.
*Optional Flexible Spider elements available with varying degree of shore hardness.
Brown BX Couplings
The BX couplings manufactured by Brown GearTech are precision-engineered flexible shaft connection components designed to accommodate axial, radial, and angular misalignments between connecting shafts. These couplings ensure smooth power transmission, reduce mechanical stress on components, and enhance the overall performance and reliability of rotating equipment.
The combination of steel and polyamide enables maintenance-free, continuous operation with very low friction combined with a compact mechanical design.
Brown Encoders
An encoder is a sensor or device that converts motion such as rotation, position, or speed into an electrical signal that can be read and processed by a control system (like a PLC, drive, or controller). Brown GearTech can supply a motor/gear unit with an optional factory fitted encoder, or whether you would like to add an encoder to an existing motor/gear unit.
Variations
- 15T: A low profile (38.1mm) Diameter Encoder, with Optional Commutation and Multiple Flex-Mounts.

- 755HS: A low profile (38.1mm) Diameter Encoder up to 30,000 PPR (Pulses Per Revolution) with a variety of Flex-Mounts.
Brown Force Ventilation Kits
Brown GearTech’s force ventilation kits are an auxiliary cooling system designed to actively cool electric motors, gear units or similar rotating machinery by means of an independent, externally powered fan, rather than relying solely on the motor’s built-in shaft-driven fan. Brown GearTech offers the option to supply motors and gear units with factory-fitted force ventilation systems, providing an integrated and reliable cooling solution tailored to the specific application and operators needs. Alternatively, a retrofit force ventilation kit can be added to an existing motor or gear unit, extending its service life and improving performance even under demanding thermal conditions.
Slide Bases
Brown GearTech’s sliding bases are designed specifically for use with electric motors and gear units. These sliding bases serve as adjustable mechanical mounting platforms, allowing precise horizontal movement of the motor or gearbox. The design of the slide base allows for quick, safe, and accurate adjustment without the need for complete disassembly, reducing downtime during maintenance or drive belt replacement.
Slide Rails
Brown GearTech’s slide rails are adjustable mounting systems designed to support either electric motors or gearboxes while allowing controlled horizontal movement along a fixed path. This sliding capability enables users to precisely adjust belt or chain tension, align shafts, and facilitate maintenance without dismantling major components. Slide rails are especially valuable in applications where frequent adjustments or component replacements are required, such as conveyor systems, pumps, fans, and other belt or chain-driven machinery. Once the correct position is achieved, the motor or gearbox can be securely locked in place using clamping bolts, ensuring long-term stability and reliable operation whilst in use.
