N-EUPEX Couplings

Due to their torsional flexibility, N-Eupex couplings can move critical torsional vibrations away from the operating area of mechanical equipment in such a way that no negative effects on the drive train are to be expected. N-Eupex couplings are made of high-quality cast iron. The flexible elements made of synthetic rubber (NBR) are available in different degrees of shore hardness for various applications. In addition, elastomers made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) with fabric inserts for increased load-bearing capacity are offered. Metal pins and flexible elements are designed so that no wear occurs when they are properly fitted.

N-EUPEX Coupling Elements – 1 Set Of Elastomers

The flexible elements made of synthetic rubber (NBR) are available in different degrees of shore hardness for various applications. These flexible elements of the N-Eupex coupling are subjected to
compression, this results in progressive torsion spring
characteristics. If the flexibles are irreparably damaged,
the hub parts come into contact with metal. This causes
the torque to continue to be transmitted in “emergency
mode” for a short period of time

RUPEX Couplings

Rupex couplings are used as flexible couplings in all applications requiring a reliable transmission of torque under harsh operating conditions. The conical seats of the buffer pins facilitate mounting and guarantee maintenance-free operation. The optimized shape of the barrelled buffers allows simple plug-in assembly and low circumferential backlash.

BIPEX Couplings

Bipex couplings are torsionally flexible with low torsional backlash. They are best known for their particularly compact construction and are often used to link machine shafts. Bipex couplings are specially suited for electric motor drives which are well aligned with the driven machines and have uniform torque loads. These couplings are suitable for mounting horizontally, vertically or any other desired angle. The coupling parts can be arranged as required on the shaft extensions to be connected, the cam ring is mounted with low backlash and achieves progressive torsional stiffness. Torsional stiffness increases in proportion to capacity utilization. The Bipex coupling is fail-safe, i.e. if the cam ring is worn, the cast cams of the coupling hub provide for emergency operation. This coupling is available as a catalogue standard in 13 sizes with torque rating between 13.5 Nm and 3700 Nm. These are suitable for ambient temperatures of between –30 °C and +80 °C. Bipex couplings are particularly suited for electric motor drives which have a uniform torque load, are well aligned and are frequently fitted in motor bell housings.

BIPEX Coupling Elements – 1 Cam Ring Insert

Bipex couplings are positive-locking and torsionally flexible
thanks to the thermoplastic polyurethane cam ring insert.

The cam ring insert is mounted with minimal clearance and offers a progressively increasing torsional spring stiffness, i.e. the torsional
spring stiffness increases with increasing load.
Thanks to its excellent damping properties and the ability to select an appropriate stiffness, torque shock loads can be absorbed effectively, resulting in improved torsional vibration performance of the drive.

N-BIPEX Couplings

The coupling portfolios normally found on the market consist of comparable couplings with a maximum permissible torque corresponding to twice the coupling’s nominal torque. To be on the safe side it is often necessary to fall back on the next-largest coupling size. If high rotational speeds or relatively large bores need to be taken into account, the market often offers costly steel solutions. The N-Bipex copes with just these situations and offers not only higher maximum torques but also an extended range of bore sizes.

With its cast hubs, the N-Bipex allows greater freedom when designing the cam geometry, thereby laying the foundation for the innovative curved design. Unlike the milled cams typically available, this design results in uniform loading of the elastomer compression bodies under all conditions and, in particular prevents inward deformation of the cam ring due to load peaks that can cause greater wear. Hubs made of high-quality nodular cast iron to allow the N-BIPEX to cope with high rotational speeds and critical bores. All in all, the N-BIPEX provides reserves that are considerably greater than those normally available on the couplings market, thus achieving a significant reduction in wear.
